The South Pacific has two broad seasons. Choosing between them changes your comfort, your costs and the crowds you meet.
Dry season: roughly May to October
Cooler, less humid and sunnier. This is the most popular period, so prices and demand are higher, especially in July and August. May, June and October are often the best compromise.
Wet season: roughly November to April
Hotter, more humid, with heavier showers and a cyclone risk in some areas. Hotels can be cheaper and the islands are quieter. Travel insurance and flexible bookings matter more.
